Goodbye 6th Class!

Graduation Day is becoming a big event on the D7ET Calendar, a big step for those who have been with us for the past eight years.
While it is sad to see familiar faces disappear, today was a happy occasion. Children were excited about their big move to secondary school, and the whole school turned out to give them the traditional ‘Guard of Honour’.

The class sang and performed three songs:

The Joni MItchell/Margaret Atwood poem to time passing, “The Circle Game”;

a self-composed song, “Boom de Yada”,

and Pompeii’s “Bastille” (or is it Bastille’s “Pompeii”?).

Thanks so much to parents of 5th Class who provided all the catering for the reception afterwards.

Remember, your time will come next year.

As is also customary, each pupil lent a hand in planting a tree to mark the occasion. Already, there are three trees in the gardens, marking the classes that have already left,
