Karate (Stadium Karate)
This is a second karate club being provided to supplement the current club, Hombu Dojo, in the school (Mondays), which is frequently oversubscribed from term to term. Sensei Jimmy Harte heads the Stadium Karate Club based in Blanchardstown. He has been operating his dojo for 11 years and practicing Wado karate for over 35 years. His dojo practises a style of karate called JKF Wado-Kai, which is directly linked to JKF Wadokai headquarters in Japan. With consistent training there are opportunities for belt grading and competitions in both Kata and Kumite (fighting). Chloe in 6th class has been a member of this club since she was 7! Note the style practised is different from that of Hombu Dojo, which practices Shotokan. While the belt progression is not transferable between the two styles, Hombu students are still welcome to try Wado Kai classes.
