Boxing Gold programme in the National Arena
On Wednesday 6th of November, 14 pupils from the 6th classes made their way to the National Boxing Arena to participate in the first of the four sessions of the Gold Programme. These pupils have all completed the Bronze and Silver programmes and showed the enthusiasm, determination and talent necessary to move on to the Gold.
Upon arrival the pupils were divided into weight classes. They were then partnered with pupils from other schools for skills and drills work before participating in some sparring in the boxing ring, with the one and only Michael Carruth on hand for support and guidance. The children who attended represented the school brilliantly and really enjoyed the session. They will now attend 3 more training sessions before taking part in a boxing showcase in December.
