After School Clubs: Information For Parent/Guardians

After School Clubs offer children an opportunity to try different activities at the end of the school day. Please familiarise yourself with the information below in advance of booking an activity for your child.

Junior & Senior Infants

  • Junior and Senior Infants may currently book a place in Karate, Lego Robotics, Spanish, Tin Whistle and Science only.
  • Please note there is a gap between the end of the school day (1.10pm for Junior and Senior Infants) and the start time of clubs (2.10pm / 3.10pm) and it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to collect their child from school and bring them to the club/activity.
  • Stay & Play offer a “Sibling Hour/Play Club” between 1.10pm and 2.10pm each day. Stay & Play can be contacted at stayandplaylittlelearners@gmail.com.
  • If a child attends Stay & Play it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to liaise with Stay & Play to ensure their child and the Stay & Play team understand which club a child is attending and when they will leave from, and/or return to, Stay & Play.

Collections & Attendance

  • Club instructors from the external providers will normally meet children at the top of the stairs in the courtyard area at 2:10pm. Younger children should be reminded by their parent/guardian in advance which club they are attending that day.
  • If a child attends Stay & Play it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to liaise with Stay & Play to ensure their child and the Stay & Play team understand which club a child is attending and when they will leave from, and/or return to, Stay & Play.
  • Please notify providers about absences in line with instructions from providers received when booking.
  • Students should not arrive late or request to leave clubs early. The school gates are closed and unattended while clubs are in session.
  • Parent/Guardians should collect children from the school gate at the club’s finish time; there is no access permitted to the school grounds for parent/guardians at collection time.

Food & Snacks

  • Depending on the activity, children may be allowed a small snack; please check with club/activity provider and plan additional food if necessary.

Waiting Lists & Returning Students

  • Some clubs prioritise places for returning students in advance of bookings opening to all and may operate waiting lists.
  • Clubs may offer additional places during term where spaces become available.

  • Parents should contact providers directly regarding weather-related concerns or absences.
