2nd Class Egyptian Poem (Peadar’s 2nd Class)

I would like to ride on a camel and see Cleopatra.
She was one of the most elegant princesses
The Egyptians built huge tombs, but the Scorpion King took over.
He had a powerful bite.
Where the Sphinx sat down.
Sail away on the Suez Canal on a felucca
Land of The Mummy’s Curse.
Bodies rise from the dead every night
When the sky is black as coal.
Those out rarely return from this terrible place.
Their clothes were of cotton, even the Mummy’s
The pyramids shake.
And pyramids are as golden as the sun
The Sahara Desert is golden and very windy.
The weather is scorching hot.
With lovely sand between your toes.
A wonderful feeling that everyone knows.
Learn hieroglyphics from the famous stone.
Then after all that hard digging,
Howard Carter found the last tomb.
Since ancient times, the tombs lie silent.
Sail all the way back on the River Nile.
