A busy week for 6th class
Maths quests, a trip to the Helix and a tour of the Sculpture in Context exhibition in the Botanic Gardens were some of the highlights of this week in Ruth’s 6th class.
Our week began with a visit to the Helix for a Murderous Maths Show with Kjartan Poskitt, who kept us entertained and impressed us with his quirky and mind-boggling puzzles and tricks.
On Tuesday we completed the fantastic Maths Quest put together by Peadar which included cracking the code for a safe and solving a puzzle to gain access to his laptop, it was incredibly tricky but we really enjoyed it, a definite highlight of the week!
On Wednesday we completed week 2 of the Silver Boxing Programme and can see a definite improvement in our skills and fitness levels. Most of us are hoping to be selected for the Gold Programme which will commence in the National Stadium after mid-term.
On Thursday we went to the Botanic Gardens for the Sculpture in Context exhibition. We didn’t mind the long walk and were happy that the rain stayed away! We loved discussing the different works of art and had great fun looking for the sculptures in the art trail put together by 5th class teacher Susan.
We finished off the week on Friday with our last ever GAA session with Mark and some fun Maths games in the GP room.
