Ice Skating 5th and 6th Class on Wednesday

Good afternoon parents and guardians,

What a busy few weeks we have had in December.

It started with the bazaar. Then we had student council elections, solstice walks, trips to the theatre, cinema, ice skating, songs and theatrical performances here in school. We are all ready for a break.

Wishing you all a lovely holiday.

School reopens on January 6th.

Thanks Paul and Hanora for their very professional accompaniment at our whole school assembly. We had a lovely sing song.

Student Council (Magnus, James, Cillian, Essie, Theia and Lily) introduce themselves at assembly

Irish Aid

Last week Niamh Brennan’s 6th Class went to Irish Aid and took part in a workshop on the Sustainable Development Goals. They played games, had a wonderful drumming session and had a ball learning about how we can work together to achieve these goals.

PGSA

On behalf of the PGSA, we wish to extend our thanks to all parents and especially the class reps for your support in the lead up to and during the Winter Bazaar. Your time, effort, and dedication were essential in making the event a wonderful success.

Whether you helped set up, managed/created a stall, baked treats, or simply lent a helping hand wherever needed, your contributions made a huge difference. Thanks to your generosity and hard work, we were able to create a festive and memorable experience for everyone in our community.

We would like to extend special thanks to the ‘stocking filler’ stall for their  generous donation to the school and also the 6th class would like to say a special thanks to Pat for generously donating to their class trip with sale of his plants

Parent talk: Helping children manage stress and anxiety by Prof John Sharry

Worry and anxiety are very common problems, and many children can get caught in worry cycles that can hinder them getting on with life. This talk will present a strengths-based model for understanding anxiety that shows how you can help your children employ their imagination and strengths against the anxiety that bothers them as well as a series of practical strategies to overcome anxiety in a step-by-step gradual way.

Tá súil agam go mbeidh Nollaig álainn agus bliain nua iontach agaibh go léir. Have a wonderful, very well-deserved break everyone
