Senior Infants and 6th class planting garlic and onion bulbs

Good afternoon, parents and guardians,

I hope you have had a lovely week.

Thank you all so much for taking time out of your busy schedules to come in and meet with your child’s class and support teacher. These meetings are just as valuable for us as they are for you, and it was wonderful to meet you all.

The children are very excited about the Winter Bazaar. They’ve been eyeing the donations all week and are already putting together their shopping lists!

A special thank-you to Louise and Jen for pulling it all together and for fielding hundreds of texts and emails. The event is as much about enjoying a day out with our school community as it is about fundraising for our school.

Bike marking

As you can see from the poster, An Garda Síochána will be in D7ETNS bike marking next Friday. More details will follow next week. They are happy to do the adult bicycles after dropping off and we can bring the children out class by class after wards to get their bikes or scooters done. The only information needed is your Eircode.

Winter Bazaar

If you can’t attend the Winter Bazaar on Sunday, and want to support the school, maybe win some great prizes, you can buy raffle tickets in advance. You simply “checkout as guest”, pay with your card and *IMPORTANTLY* put in your name and put phone number (in the “note to merchant” box,) so we can contact you with a prize. (Raffle tickets will also be on sale on Friday at drop off.) Payment link: https://pay.sumup.com/b2c/QU61V8LJ (buy twice if you want to spend €20!)

The History Of Dublin 7 Educate Together N.S.

This week, the 3 second classes enjoyed learning about the History of our school.

We learned that our first school was located on Henrietta Street from 2000- 2002. With 47 pupils and 3 teachers, we spent 2 years in a Georgian house on Henrietta Street, rented from The King’s Inn. The classes took a walk earlier this month to see this building.

From Henrietta Street we moved to the Navan Road. There was a large yard and playing field, as well as lots of stairs to climb. 250 pupils attended D7 with 25 staff members. We had a farm and a swimming pool on the site which we used every week.

Our school’s final move which we all remember as second class were in Junior Infants was in June 2023 to our permanent location. We all love our new school here on the TUD site. Current students attending D7ETNS: 515 Staff: 61.

The children interviewed Fionnuala, Katrina and Marie as they all taught in 3 of the school buildings and Edel who worked in all 4!

We shared funny stories and memories and marvelled at how different each building was and how much our school community has grown.

We learned so much this week about the History of Our School.

It was a fun trip down memory lane!
