Gaeilge at home | Gaeilge sa bhaile
We would like to support parents and guardians in helping children use and enjoy Irish at home, whether informally in everyday conversation or while supporting homework. Below are a number of practical, parent-friendly resources. No previous experience with Irish is needed
Useful phrases for home and homework
This resource from Gaeloideachas contains clear, everyday phrases that parents can use at home and when helping with homework. It includes explanations, pronunciation guides, and QR codes linking to audio, making it easy to use even if you are new to the language.
Cúla4 / CulaClab video resources
These short videos are aimed at primary school children at a range of levels and include questions to encourage listening and understanding. Parents/guardians can watch along with their children and answer the questions together.
Pronunciation support (Abair.ie)
This website allows users to type any Irish text and hear it spoken aloud in different canúintí (dialects). It is particularly helpful for checking pronunciation and building confidence.
