Senior Infant Sunflowers

Good afternoon parents / guardians,

I hope you have had a nice week.

I don’t know if it is the sunshine, or our imminent school move but it is like someone has turned on some type of excitement switch in our school this week. There is a great general buzz in the building.

Details for our move are being finalised. I can now confirm that we will move in the week May 29th – June 2nd. Our crates will arrive next week, and we will start to pack up. We are meeting the removals company on Tuesday to discuss the logistics of moving our school to the top of the hill!

Staff will get our first visit on May 3rd. We will take plenty of photos to prepare the children for their new learning space. Obviously, we will bring our children with additional learning needs on preview visits to give them adequate preparation for the change.

D7ETNS Orchard

The trees in our new orchard are taking root and in bud. We are, with the help of staff from GDA, watering to help our orchard to help it thrive. It is a nice quiet spot for a picnic. Your child will show you how to get there!

HSE Hearing and Vision with Junior Infants

This will take place on May 8th

 National Children’s Choir

We are all looking forward to hearing the children sing in the National Children’s Choir Dublin Regional Concert. This will be taking place in the National Basketball Arena, Tallaght, on Tuesday April 25th from 8pm – 9:45pm. Tickets will be available to purchase on the door on Tuesday evening if you would like to go.

The children have worked very hard and are sounding absolutely fantastic. It will be wonderful to see their hard work come to fruition.

Dublin Bay Cycling Centre

We were delighted to welcome Colm Sevastopulo form Dublin Bay Cycling centre to our school today. He will provide cycle safety training to our 6th class children as they prepare to leave our school and travel further afield to their respective secondary schools.

Today’s lesson was   largely theory based (bike safety, helmet safety etc.), lessons 2-6 are learning skills on bikes in the yard and on-road sessions.  Colm will provide bikes and helmets although we encourage children to bring their own bikes and helmets where possible.
