GAELTACHT 2013

6th Class went on their annual visit to the Donegal Gaeltacht on May 13th. The week in Annagry’s Colaiste na Rosann has become a school rite-of-passage for our pupils.
Weather, though not as sunny as last year’s, held up well enough for us to visit the usual attractions there. We spent a day at Dunlewy Activity Centre and crossed to Aranmore Island on a ferry.
Boys stayed with Bean an Ti Atty Ni Dhomhnaill, while girls were in Brid Ni Ghallchoir’s home.
We managed to come third in the Talent Contest, with our rendition of Abair Leat, after a last-minute decision not to sing Madin I mBearra, the original choice.
The rich Gaelteacht culture was explored, pupils experienced their first independent living, and most importantly, we counted the same number of pupils upon disembarking afterwards.
