2nd Class Art

This is a sample of artwork completed by 2nd Class during their first term.
We worked on some foam faces, with particular emphasis on hairstyles.
The butterflies tied in with our Science investigation of butterflies. Did you know that butterflies get their name because appearance, usually in May, means it is time to make butter?
The fruit was a still-life work, spread over two weeks. Luckily, we replaced the fruit in the meantime.
Finally, the faces are based on a template of the human face. Children learned that your eyes are halfway up your head, not on your crown, as often depicted.
