School ribbon dance on Tuesday
Good afternoon parents and guardians,
I hope you have had a nice week.
We are at the end of a most enjoyable Arts week here in D7. We had 2 whole school assemblies on Thursday and Friday. How lovely it was to have new seating in our amazing school hall to comfortably host all of us.

Thanks, Romey for coordinating our whole school singalong, our trad group and our classical musicians. Thanks, Paul, for the songs, especially the d7 anthem and thanks to the children who gave it everything!
We had great news this week when our colleague, Deirdre, announced the birth of her baby Bea. Heartiest congratulations Dee from all of us.
We are looking forward to the 6th class graduation next Wednesday. Thanks to the 5th class volunteers who have been busy this week planning the party.
We are also looking forward to our first summer Fete in this building on Sunday. Hope you can make it.
Gentle reminder school closes at 12pm next Friday.
Summer Programme commences on Monday at 8.30am. Thanks Grace for managing Summer Programme.
Jack’s 3rd class
3rd class had the opportunity to take part in a design and print project from start to finish. First we all came up with a Zen Doodle. Eric collected and collated our individual designs and printed them onto a printing press. Eric came in a second time, and we all printed our collective design onto our very own Tote bag. Thanks so much for all the help, Eric.
Veronica’s 5th
Congratulations to some children in Veronica’s 5th who were the runners-up in the recent UNHCR World Refugee Day Rap Competition. The announcement will be made on News2Day. The UNHCR based in Ballsbridge would like to feature the audio recording of the 5th class rap on their website as well as possibly conducting a short interview with the group on Monday or Tuesday .
The children performed the rap today at assembly.
Representatives from the Active Committee were proud recipients of several rugby balls from our local Centra. Dean, the manager was happy to give something back to the school and we look forward to getting plenty of use out of them in the next school year. It’s a very popular spot with the school community and it’s nice to build up a good rapport with our neighbours in D7 ET.
When we were in Senior Infants we took part in the Crocosmias project with Clodagh Emoe. As a gift she gave us a Sweet Geranium. Róisín kindly took care of it for us and kept it since we were in Senior Infants all the way through to 6th class. When we were split into 3 sixth classes Róisín split the plant into three parts and gifted each class a plant of their own. On the 19th of June we planted them at the front of the school to mark our time in D7ET. We are grateful to Róisín for keeping the Sweet Geranium for so long and keeping it healthy. Now we look forward to watching them grow in the years to come.
