Dalymount Blitz December 2017
On Wednesday December 13th, both 4th Classes made the short journey on foot to Dalymount. Dublin City Council and Bohemians were hosting a soccer blitz for girls from schools in the local area. The blitz was preceded by a 6 week block of skills training in the school. We were able to put together two teams from the classes and the girls were cheered on from the stands by their fellow classmates.
Heavy rain in the morning proved to be a deterrent for some of the schools but the D7 girls were up to the task. They each played 4 matches on the hallowed Dalymount turf which has seen many big names over the years. The boys benefited from the absence of other schools and got to play their own games on the pitch also. It was a great opportunity for the girls to try out soccer and they all enjoyed their morning of sport.
