Intercultural Day 2020

We celebrated our Intercultural Day on Wednesday 29 January. Each year on Intercultural Day, we use a different theme to explore and celebrate all of the cultures present in our school community. After a day of music in 2018, and food (and full stomachs!) in 2019, our theme this year was story.

A variety of activities took place throughout the school. 2nd, 3rd and 4th classes were lucky enough to be visited by Aideen McBride, a storyteller who held her audiences captive with traditional Irish folktales. Every class in the school submitted a story to a D7ET Intercultural Story Anthology and many young artists got their creative juices flowing designing covers for our new publication. A selection of these are on display outside Fionnuala’s office. Infants enjoyed buddy reading with senior classes. Many classes were delighted to have parents visit to share stories and traditions from their cultures. Many thanks to all who gave their time to make our day extra special.

Time to get the thinking hats on for Intercultural Day 2021!
