Spider Love Poem (6th Class 2012)

Oh, Jeffrey, you hang about in the cellar
You really are such a good feller
You don’t need neurotoxins to paralyse me.
I like the way you murder prey
I could sit here and watch you do it all day
I have a heart too; don’t please break or eat it.
The anchor-lines of your web are strong
But not strong enough to break our love.
Your leg-span is long and fine
Though not nearly as good as mine
Your soft silky abdomen
Will attract all the men
I love all 8 legs, they’re long and hairy
There’s nothing about you I find at all scary
We can be love-bugs, we’ve got it made

Until you decide to bite off my head
