D7ET STRIKES BACK!

On Thursday, the 4th of October, our Senior GAA Football Team played Glasnevin ET. This match was to decide who would go through to the Quarter Finals. D7ET started the match well, with an early goal, putting us one point ahead of Glasnevin. Later in the first half, Glasnevin got three goals, which really woke us up. The score at half-time was 3-4 to our 2-1. Our mentor, Marie, told us to keep our heads up, and to play the best we could. We went out there and did exactly what Marie said. As the second half progressed, the game became more intense. We scored two goals and a good few points. The Glasnevin mentor asked the referee what the score was and he answered: ”The Blues are winning by a point with a minute to go.”
We were delighted, but the pressure got to us. We got a free from the 45 yard line and missed. We were disappointed, but just then, the full-time whistle went. We all ran to each other and celebrated. Marie had one last message to give us:
“We are through to the Quarter-Final!” We all jumped into the air with joy.
