D7ET World Down Syndrome Day 2020

World Down Syndrome Day is celebrated annually on the 21st of March. The date for World Down Syndrome Day is always the 21st day of the 3rd month. People with Down syndrome are born with an extra copy, a 3rd chromosome 21. Naturally, in our school we are passionate that we continually ensure that our students with Down Syndrome are afforded every opportunity to be heard and respected as valued members of our school community as they strive to achieve their goals and pursue their passions. To prepare for World Down Syndrome day, we were all learning the Lámh signs for Michael Bublé’s song Forever now.

Thank you so much to Deirdre, Elaine and all the Junior Infants who decided to celebrate ‘virtually’ by doing their Lámh signs together on a Zoom call.

Look at how many signs they know!
